The Lead Shielded Compact Source Storage Safe – 40 mm is purpose-built for the secure storage of radioactive sources, radiopharmaceuticals, and calibration standards in nuclear medicine, isotope production, and research laboratories.

With internal dimensions of 284 × 284 × 360 mm, it provides generous storage space for lead pigs, source containers, or sealed isotopes while maintaining exceptional shielding performance. The safe incorporates 40 mm thick lead in all walls, the door, and the base, ensuring high-level gamma radiation attenuation from every direction.

A heavy-duty steel outer body reinforces the structure for maximum mechanical strength. The secure locking mechanism limits access to authorised personnel only, supporting strict compliance with radiation safety protocols.

Both the interior and exterior are coated with a durable epoxy paint, providing a smooth, easy-to-clean surface that resists scratches, wear, and chemical cleaning agents. This finish is available in multiple colours to meet facility standards or colour-coded workflows.

In addition to its standalone function, the SC1440 can also be supplied as part of a custom source storage setup. These setups may include multiple SC1440 units placed side-by-side and/or stacked — for example, in 4×4 or 1×3 configurations — to create high-capacity shielded storage. All multi-unit configurations are custom-built on request to meet specific spatial, workflow, and safety requirements.
