The Lead Shielded Compact Source Storage Safe – 62 mm is a high-performance shielding solution designed for the secure storage of small but high-activity radioactive sources, radiopharmaceuticals, and calibration standards in nuclear medicine, research, and isotope production facilities.

With internal dimensions of 150 × 150 × 150 mm, it is optimised for compact storage while providing exceptional shielding capacity. The safe features 62 mm thick lead integrated into all walls, the door, and the base, delivering maximum gamma radiation attenuation for high-intensity isotopes.

A heavy-duty steel outer shell ensures structural integrity and long service life. A secure locking mechanism controls access, ensuring only authorised personnel can handle the contents.

Both the interior and exterior are coated with a durable epoxy paint, providing a smooth, easy-to-clean finish resistant to scratches, wear, and chemical cleaning agents. The coating is available in multiple colours to match facility standards or to support colour-coded workflows.

In addition to standalone use, the SC1462 can be supplied as part of a custom source storage setup. Such configurations may include multiple SC1462 units placed side-by-side and/or stacked — for example, in 4×4 or 1×3 layouts — to create high-capacity shielded storage systems. All multi-unit setups are custom-built on request to meet specific spatial, workflow, and safety requirements.
